After missing out on a whole year of Holiday Parties and Weddings we are thrilled to be able to welcome back these important events.  It’s time to come together again and celebrate these milestones at the Millstone!

We are now taking bookings for Holiday parties and weddings from 10 – 130 people.  Each Millstone location has its own unique opportunities to host these groups.

The Millstone on Baker Drive has a private back room that can accommodate 25 people , the dining room can accommodate up to 50 guests or the whole restaurant can be booked for a private function of up to 100 guests.

Our Bedford location has two sides that can be booked for up to 45 people or the whole space for 90 people.

The Millstone Public House at King’s Wharf, the largest of the three locations, has multiple areas that can be rented out for groups or the entire space can be booked for a private function up to 130 guests.   We have taken down some walls and opened things up.  Not only does this provide incredible ocean views and stunning natural light, but also adds the opportunity for a small dance floor.

It was our first time participating in Burger Week and we are really pleased to have taken the plunge.  It was an incredible ten days of new faces, regular customers and delicious burgers all for a great cause.  Through the dedication and hard work of our team and the wonderful support of our customers we are happy to announce we will be making a huge donation to Feed Nova Scotia. With 2,769 burgers sold and $2.00 donated per burger that cheque will be a whopping $5,538!

A great burger for an even greater cause.

We are proud to be participating in this year’s HFX Burger Week.  With $2.00 from each burger sold going to Feed Nova Scotia we knew we had to knock this one out of the park.  Our kitchen teams put together an absolutely incredible burger that bursts with flavour and celebrates the maritimes.

And now for some good news!

We have all been waiting to hear those words haven’t we?  It’s been a tough time for everyone and while we wade into phase 5 and slowly see barriers coming down and Plexiglass being removed we are still wearing masks, sanitizing our hands, staying home when we don’t feel well and showing our vaccine passports to gain entry in to restaurants.  It’s all in the name of safety and concern for our fellows.  Perhaps when we look back at this slice of time we will remember how we all braced for change and came together to make it happen.  We at the Millstone want to thank you for your ongoing support through too many pivots to count…there are indeed better days ahead.

Now, what is this good news of which I speak?  Free parking!  Not quite a trip to the Bahamas but we must all enjoy the little things in life too.  All three Millstone locations offer FREE PARKING.  We’d like you to come and stay a while.  Relax with a great meal, cold drink and a friend.

At the Baker Drive and Bedford Millstones parking is available front and centre in the ample parking lots.  At the new waterfront Millstone at King’s Wharf we are able to offer complimentary gated parking via a code.  This code changes weekly so you’ll need to watch our social media for it or give us a shout and we will gladly fill you in.  902-404-8053 .  There is also paid street parking at King’s Wharf and we are happy to validate your first hour!  Just as your server.

In other good news we have added a few new items to our menu we think you’ll love. As always we have incredible burgers and pasta dishes, plus saucy chicken wings and those crave-able pretzel bites but now we also offer a Must-Try Lobster Ravioli Dish and that classic belly warming Chicken Parm.

You may have noticed that we have been running Truckload Sales every 3 months or so and perhaps have asked yourself why?  The reason is that we feel it is something that was borne of necessity during a challenging year for everyone, but became a great way to offer another service to the customers we value.  Being able to sell restaurant quality cases of meat and seafood direct to you at excellent prices with convenient trunk drop, drive thru service seems to be a win win for everyone involved.  We know it is time to run another one when we start to get calls and emails saying I’m almost out of bacon! When is the next truckload sale??  So, for the foreseeable future you can expect that we will be offering these sales every 3 – 4 months.  Knowing they are a dependable way to fill your freezer may help you plan your shopping accordingly.  This time around we have added a FREE $20 Millstone Public House Gift Card to every order of four cases or more.  Once you fill your freezer we’d love to see you in the pub with a cold drink in your hand.

This sale is on now and will close on Monday August 23rd at 1:00 sharp.  Pick up will be on Wednesday August 25th.  Customers can either pick up their orders at the Baker Drive Millstone in the morning or the Bedford Millstone in the afternoon on that day.  If you want to place an order but are unable to pick up on Wednesday August 25th you can simply provide your order receipt to a friend or family member and ask them to pick up your cases on your behalf.  We are NOT able to store your orders at the Millstone Public House as we do not have the freezer space to do so.  Unclaimed cases will be donated to Feed Nova Scotia.

With three locations in HRM, The Millstone Public House is proud to be locally owned and operated.  We live here, work here, play here, shop here, have kids in schools here and know in our hearts that this is one of the greatest cities on earth.  When we opened our newest location at King’s Wharf on the waterfront in Dartmouth we were thrilled to participate in the growth and development of Downtown Dartmouth while also creating more than 20 jobs.  Despite all the challenges of running a small business, this is something that makes us feel good.  Our staff are incredible and work so hard to win your loyalty and your business and love getting to the point where they know what you want before you even have to ask.  That’s hospitality at it’s best.

Well, it has been a year.  We can all pat ourselves on the back for enduring the many challenges this time has presented us with.  From missing our families, to cancelling travel plans; from homeschooling while on a Zoom call to dutifully standing on spacer dots at the grocery store and waiting ever so patiently for things to return to normal.  Our capacity to adapt and endure has shown us that we are a strong and caring bunch here in Nova Scotia.  Together we crushed wave 3 faster than anticipated and can now see the summer opening up in front of us.  Well done!

For now, we are only open for Patio dining and take out at all three Millstone locations.  The King’s Wharf ocean view terrace can accommodate up to 40 people, with two beautiful fire tables, so we have decided to open it 7 days a week at 11:30 am (weather permitting).  The patios at Baker Drive and in Bedford are small and have limited seating but we are happy to serve you some cold drinks and excellent food in the sunshine while we can.  Those locations are closed Monday and Tuesday, open Thursday 4:00 – 9:00, Friday and Saturday 12:00 – 9:00 and Sunday 4:00 – 9:00 for take out and dine in.

We anticipate being able to open all three locations to full operations and indoor dining next Wednesday June 16th.  If you would like to book a table please give us a call and we will pencil you in.  There are better days ahead…it’s going to be a fun summer of reconnecting and saying goodbye to some of the restrictions.
